Our bodies often hold onto the physical and emotional stress we carry. SomatoEmotional Release (SER) is an extension of CranioSacral Therapy, developed through the Upledger Institute, that gently supports the natural connection between body and mind. Working together, we create a calm, unhurried space where your nervous system can settle and your body can express what it may be holding.
How SomatoEmotional Release fits within CST
SER is not a separate appointment — it is a way of working that may arise naturally within a CranioSacral session when your process invites it. Using the same light, listening touch, Janelle follows your body's lead. Sometimes gentle dialogue is part of the process; sometimes it is simply quiet presence. You remain fully clothed, fully in charge, and free to pause or stop at any time.
What a session may look like
There is no single "right" experience. Some people notice deep relaxation. Others become aware of tension, emotions, images, or memories that surface gently. Sessions are trauma-informed and client-led, which means nothing is forced and you are never asked to relive or perform anything. We move at your pace, with consent at every step.
Who might explore SomatoEmotional Release
- People who feel their stress lives in the body as much as the mind
- Those navigating long-held tension, overwhelm, or a nervous system stuck on high alert
- Clients who appreciate a slower, quieter, consent-based approach to bodywork
- Anyone curious about supporting the mind–body connection alongside their broader care
Training & approach
Janelle is a Diplomate Certified CranioSacral Therapist trained through the Upledger Institute, where SomatoEmotional Release is part of the CranioSacral curriculum. Her work is grounded in a clear understanding of anatomy paired with genuine warmth — so support feels both skilled and safe.
CranioSacral Therapy is not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, or treatment. Please continue working with your medical providers for medical concerns.
Booking
SomatoEmotional Release is offered within regular CranioSacral Therapy sessions, so there is nothing separate to book. Choose the session length that fits you — 55, 85, or 110 minutes — and let Janelle know you are interested in this approach. If your work naturally invites it, there is space for it.
