Why CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release
CranioSacral Therapy (CST)
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) helps to facilitate the natural healing process that is already at work. It is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and supporting the craniosacral system which is comprised of the fascia, membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. When the body is no longer bound by restrictions along the fascial system, it can move with greater ease, readily adapt to it’s environment, and thus have a greater expression of health. See the Offerings page to learn about appointment options with Janelle.
SomatoEmotional Release
SomatoEmotional Release (SER) is a therapeutic process that integrates with, uses, and expands on the principles of CranioSacral Therapy to help a person address the residual effects of past injuries and experiences and release these from the tissues of the body. It is based on research done by Dr. John E Upledger and biophysicist Zvi Karni. When the body is in harmony it is able to dissipated forces that may enter it at the time of an accident or injury. If the body is not able to dissipate these forces they may become stalled or trapped in the tissues and create lingering effects. SomatoEmotional Release is the process of reconnecting the brain and body to enable more peaceful and harmonious living.
